The collective details of life complete into a fulfilling adversary, placing weights of invigorating predicaments upon our focus that compromise our ability to relieve ourselves. Overwhelmingly, difficult situations demand arduous effort we often feel we cannot find when the noise becomes too loud.
We are impressionable beings—products of our environment that reflect worlds we created in our minds, for what is believed, comes to be, manifesting what we think into existence. And so, the adversary who appears to flourish in your times of difficulty—life—is to all intents and purposes, overshadowed by the most significant enemy we will face for a lifetime—our very selves.
As all young men do, I considered the opinion of others intensely as I walked with the mantle of my family name, and I did with little confidence. But then, I was edified by the acknowledgment that I was born with a potential for glory. So I indulged in my ambitious passion to aide the people who are within my arms reach.
However, helping others would prove obsolete if I couldn’t help myself first. Realizing this, I blossomed, announcing my refusal to fall burdened by the less than fortunate livelihood I was given; a home that often went without light, hot water, or water alone, a father who rejected my conceiving, and a mother who fell into the false-healing of drugs.
I canceled out the noise. I centered my focus on rising above the horizons using my experiences as a stone to step higher and higher. Through the resistance of my burdens, my mind was made stronger from the straining refusal to pay attention to my misfortune that made sulking easy, and instead, adopts an attitude of gratitude.
My world remained relatively kept together with absent pieces, but, it inspired a hope that affirmed courage within me, and even deeper, grace under pressure.
This view of gratitude released me into an escape of tranquility that does not merit being risked by being ungrateful. No one should allow themselves to be robbed of peace by delving into a dissatisfied perspective.
The unfortunate truth of life—we will experience more hardships than fruits of purity. Like any human being, we’ll be embittered by the absence of kindness from our lives and we will be presented what seems to only be the negatives. However, it is ultimately up to us whether we look beyond the surface or not.
I believe what is appreciated attracts peacefulness. The only interruption is thanklessness. To act upon what is honest, passionate, and blessed embellishes one’s mindfulness and taste for life, and then, gracefully we fall into a world of relief. And so, to overcome a difficult situation, we must remember that light still shines—just as brightly—in days of rain.
